There are currently four types of professional Membership.

Registered Dance Movement Psychotherapist (RDMP) membership is for qualified practitioners fulfilling the criteria for professional registration with ADMP UK and includes:

    • Practising RDMPs
    • Non-Practising RDMPs
    • RDMPs on the Private Practice Register
    • RDMPs on the Clinical Supervision Register
  • Graduate Registered Dance Movement Psychotherapist (GRDMP) for those students whose studies were impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic
  • Student Membership is for students only – those who are enrolled on an accredited Dance Movement Psychotherapy course
  • Associate Membership is for those who are not qualified DMPs, but are interested in the work of ADMP UK and the profession. Associate Members currently receive a monthly news bulletin. There may be other instances where a DMP may hold Associate Membership (for instance if they trained outside the UK and are applying for membership, or if their membership has lapsed and they are applying to return to practice).

Membership entitles Dance Movement Psychotherapists to practice within a variety of clinical fields. Members also receive a monthly bulletin with updates, resource links, and CPD information. ADMP UK Council is currently exploring further benefits that can be made available to our members.

Further information about membership can be found in Guidelines and Criteria for Registration. All DMPs adhere to the Code of Ethics and Professional practice. Both documents can be found here.

The Professional Registers

The Professional Registers have been established to safeguard the quality and standards of the Dance Movement Psychotherapy profession in the United Kingdom for the benefit of both ADMP UK’s members and the public. The registers consist of names of individuals who are recognised by ADMP UK as competent and licensed to practice as professional Dance Movement Psychotherapists.
